Four weeks ago,I purchased a brake master cylinder for my 65 GS. The part I received from CARS Inc.( New Jersey) was incorrect(dual reservoir, not single). I called and explained the problem. They could not understand what was wrong:Dou:. After 15 minutes of me keep telling them the part will not fit,I was instructed to send the part back.

The following week I called them and asked if they had the correct part in stock. I told them if I could not have the correct part by Friday to cancel my order as I did not want to miss another weekend without the GS roadworthy.
They said they would call me back. Two days later, with no call from them, I called. I was told they could not get me the correct part by Friday "because the boss is on vacation". I told them to cancel the order.

Two weeks later, the correct part is delivered. I called them and ranted  at them and told them I cancelled the order and gave them the person's name I spoke to. They authorized another return. I asked them who was going to pay for the shipping charges(total now close to $30.00). They said they will check on it.

In the end, they credited my credit card for the cost of the part and I am out nearly $30.00 in shipping charges.

They made the mistakes, treated a customer badly and I paid for it!:spank:

So if you want to order parts from someone who doesn't know what they are selling and doesn't understand the first thing about customer service, call CARS Inc.(no toll free phone no. either!:bla: ).

OPGI(california) had the correct part, express shipped it to me by Friday and the total was less than the original invoice from CARS.:TU:

I work for an auto parts co. and we will use this experience as an example of how NOT to treat customers.

OPG has some of the biggest delays I have seen in shipping and wrongly presumes a lot of Chevelle stuff will fit a Buick. Also the other guy is not the first to complain about CARS.

OPGI is cool but out of their 300+page catalog they probably only have 20% of that stuff and it'll be on back order.
Its a nice color catalog though...its nice for day dreaming.

And yes they think all chevelle parts fit buicks too. Be careful when you buy, ask for part #'s and compare to others.

ya we all have been burned by one buick parts dealer or another, mine was thrue opgi, cali. when they DID NOT HONER there return policy on a MSD 6a w/a factory malfunction ,and then i had to deal with msd themself, who in turn DOES NOT give REFUNDS on there products or credits just repair or replace.I wish i knew b 4 i bought a new one to replace the bad one ''thinking msd would covered it '', and it wouldnt hold the mechanic from building up my 68. DAD was right im still learning the hard way.:spank:

I've got stuff on backorder from Year One since June of this year. :Do No:
Have yet to deal with Cars Inc.
Too bad we can't deal directly with the manufacturer / suppliers. :idea2:

  13. I've learned with CARS they have some good stuff, but if you ever buy any of it just prepare to throw it away if it is not what you expect.

Much of what they sell can be found if you just spend some time looking. Their rubber parts come from Steele. The manifold paint I got from them came from Bill Hirsch.......for much less than what they charge. If you call around, these places WILL send you a catalog. I have also found that Pontiac place, forgot their name, they are great about returns and stand behind what they sell.

I'll post their name when it comes back to me......old age. :Dou:

Been slammed by OPG myself... the trunk drops are definitely Chevelle's not Buicks and their return policy...Don't get me started.

    docgsx It's not a GTX

I got hosed by GM Obsolete. They sent me the wrong gas tank sending unit. Only credited me back 75% and I paid shipping both ways.

"What goes around, comes around." It will circle back on them I'm sure.

Well...add me to the list of CARS casualties. They have tried twice now to get me the correct washer jar (non bracket type) but have failed both times. The catalog is confusing for the 70 application as it shows a 68-72 bracket style. Mine attaches directly. So I called and asked the sales person, which one do I order?? First time they sent a Riviera jar and this time they sent a bracket style jar. Both times have been a bust and they won't credit back any freight or even issue a in store credit for the $40 I am out freight (4 trips I have paid for). A $40 credit would have kept me at least coming back...instead $40 just ticked me off.
