So I’ve read threads on here & saw George’s info. My problem is that the blades on my carb aren’t opening. I have very limited throttle travel(like there’s a ton of slack in the cable). I get travel of about half way & the secondaries don’t even begin to move. I can manually open them using the linkage.

I have a 1973 800cfm Quadrajet on a 1970 intake, using the 1973 throttle cable bracket, a TH350 pedal assembly, & the TA1260 throttle cable. Is all of this because I need a 1970 throttle cable bracket? The 3/4” difference doesn’t seem like it would matter that much.

    Thanks,

    Kyle

What does the throttle cable bracket look like? If you move the bracket rear ward on the intake, does that take up the slack in the cable?

This is the correct bracket with the correct cable on a Performer intake.

Thanks Larry.I also saw that I forgot to mention that this is on a 455.

    Here's my bracket & cable. A bracket off of a '73 on a '70 intake. Cable is a TA 1260.

    Thanks for the offer Bruno.

Luckily I still have the old one from my 350 4bbl.

    Update:

It turned out that the cable was not the issue. It was in fact the ‘73 bracket. I got one from Mike on here & now it works perfect.
