I'm going to buy a new throttle cable and can't seem to find my old one to measure. The car is a 1970 Gs Stage 1. Can anyone tell me what's a good length? I'm looking at this one, any opinions or recommendations for any other options? I like the braided line look. https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/157010/10002/-1 Also... I want to get a new bracket with return springs. I'm considering this option however, I don't like the "jegs" logo on it. The chrome option doesn't have the logo but I'd prefer a stainless. Does anyone have any recommendations? Pictures? https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/15155/10002/-1
Stock stuff, http://www.taperformance.com/proddetail.asp?prod=TA_1260 http://www.taperformance.com/proddetail.asp?prod=TA_1261 https://www.mrbuick.com/reproductionparts.html (Scroll to the bottom for a picture of the stock throttle bracket)
I tried using a knock off version of the last throttle cable bracket you posted on mine and could not get it to open up my throttle all the way. I ended up using a brand new stock style bracket and cable from stage 1 restoration. It works and looks great. Plus 1 on using the stock stuff.
I have a stock cable if interested in going that route. It won't fit my '73 as it's about an inch too short between the firewall and throttle bracket at the carb. Brand new from Stage 1 Restoration. https://www.stage1restoration.com/product/throttle-cable-455/
Thanks for measuring dave I appreciate it! I'm going to pass on the stock option for now but thank you.
No worries at all. Which cable are you going to go with? I am thinking Lokar.... but not sure of other quality options.
I went with this... https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/157010/10002/-1 I haven't installed it yet though. Still gotta get the motor in the car first
My 69 one is steel. My real question is were the early one steel and the later ones plastic originally?
