any body else out there have..or seen a convertable with 3 on the tree..how bout and production #'s..i've got one..i was thinking of putting auto in it..but i think it's kinda rare..works really good..thanks chris.
I know that there is a 70 Stage 1 convert out there with a 3 on the tree I believe it was at the Volo museum at one time...
Nick, production figures for GS show 100 3spd column shift cars made from 1970-1972 (eleven convertibles) but they were all GS350s. I don't have figures on regular Skylarks, unfortunately. Either the production figures are wrong, or that 70GS Stg1 may have been a clone? Nice car, Chris. It's definitely one of very few.
I'm sure it wasn't a clone. Maybe it was three on the floor? It was featured in the X-tra a few years ago. At one time it was owned by the guy from Chicago who married the pretty blond local girl at the track during the Nats. (Can't remember his name to save my life...)
John Bernardi owns this 1970 GS 3-speed conv Stage1, and it's a saginaw on the floor...I've been trying to get him to register his rare Diplomat Blue beauty...
1970 was last year for 3spd floor shift. The book shows 1 GS Stg1 convert was made in '70 with a 3spd floor shift. One of one is pretty rare.
