As the title suggests can I run a front engine plate and poly transmission mount only or would i need a midplate?

I run the regal with front plates and the stock mounts on engine and trans with no issues.

In my opinion you would need "stock type" mounts or a "mid plate" to go along with the engine plate, in which case the engine plate would just control the rotation or "twist" of the engine. From my experience I would not use just a motor plate and trans mount only........ you will develop issues in short order!

I sell plated steel mid plates for $145 plus shipping.

A sudden stop could be ugly with a front plate only. Retain factory mounts until you can secure the engine better.

Thank you guys. Going to use the stock motor mounts and the front stabilizer link that is already there for now. Steve I know who to talk to when i need a midplate. Going to post a few pictures of the little progress I made on wagon in a couple of days. Thanks again - Peter

Ummmmm BRIZ.. I thought u only got one and a half runs on that wild thang with the mean nostrils out the front . Not to bring back memories or stuff. Don't take me wrong cause I know you don't , but that diamond plate deal u got is not gonna hold back a Bad Ass Buick for long. Your sure to give yourself a new hood scoop opening with that set up.

I believe he's running the stock motor mounts and only using the front plates to prevent rotation. I agree, though that the tensile strength of diamond deck plate is not great. Most of it is meant for bending and fabricating items and it's most likely 3003-H14 aluminum. It'll work to prevent rotation, but I wouldn't use it for a full motor plate. I use 1/4" 6061-T6 for my motor plates and grade 50 steel for the mid plates.

Steve is correct. I will watch it and if I notice any stress or cracking it will get upgraded quick. I can always use what's there now as a templet and whip up another set quick. And FIW she made 7 runs before the oil stopped flowing. Thanks to SRE I wont have that issue again!

I have a half inch bellhousing adapter to run my 700. it fits behind the fly wheele and covers the whole space , dowl to dowl. Is that considered a mid plate. ? Or does it need to be connected to the frame ?

Connected to the frame to be called a "mid plate".
