Basically it was a gas station owner bragging that he had the only gas station in town and didn't care what people thought about him and that he was raising his prices to 2.85 a gallon and that if the people in the town didn't like it they could try to find it somewhere else.He said he is only out to make a profit and doesn't care what people think.From the way it sounded he was probably Babu from Seinfeld.There were also other numerous posts there from other service station owners basically saying the same thing.Can't he be prosecuted for this(price gouging)?What a friggin' jerk!:blast:
I saw it but didn't bother reading it as I thought it would cause another SUV/Terrorism thread. When I read that, I opened up a thread on this site and the bca forum...ended up getting some major heat from both sides. Interesting debating, though. I have been looking at gas prices fluctuating by $0.10 or more in a day...EVERY day. It's killing me.
In the state of texas last year the governor stated that if gas prices raised due to station profit they would be prosicuted by the state of texas. No increase in gas prices were seen and if so it was very minimal.

I dont want too racial profile but us as white America have not done a good job of protesting anything. I almost feel like when do we get too riot in the streets and burn things? Gas station prices just might be enough too push us over the edge. -Matt

Gas is $1.32 for regular unleaded in Austell, GA. $1.56 for Amoco 93 octane. Some of you need to ask your state congressman what is going on!!!! Hydrogen powered vehicles are on the way.... Russ Waters
yeah, but I can burn 20 gallons of gas a lot faster than drink 20 gallons of beer. In Michigan after 9-11, some gas stations were charging $4 - $5 a gallon for gas. The attorney general sued them for price gouging. They all had to rebate money back to customers in the form of lower gas prices for X amount of days. The attorney general is now Govenor ou: Mike
Found the solution: When staff at a Welsh supermarket first noticed dramatic increases in the sale of cooking oil, they thought the locals were doing a lot of frying. They weren't. Yep there is some kit out there that lets you use used cooking oil or grease. One idea I had for gas station revenge is, steal every single window washer every time you fill up. Sell them on ebay for 2 bucks each. Make an easy 10 bucks every time you fill up your car. A cordless drill and a bucket will also get your car plenty of free gallons of blue stuff for your windshield. A monkey wrench can come in handy too. After you fill up steal the handle of the hose. gas will not come out until the pump is turned on. Acted like an overly concerned customer and run into the station screaming some guy has his car running and they will hit that big red button cause you cant leave your car running while you fill up. And then it takes a good 10-15 mins too get the computer and pump back up along with a bunch of pissed off customers. I use too work at a gas station and was the do it your self-mechanic. Only scary part is changing the water filter as gas sprays all over the place. Or the girl inside turns the diesel on with the handle off the hose. Truckers get even with the gas station by breaking the handles, cutting the hoses or backing into the fence. I spent many days just fixing the diesel pumps. [Also cutting the end off the air hose is an oldy but a goodie.] -Matt
Hydrogen could work if you could get enough juice out of some electric wheel motors that no only run the car but pump juice into a big tank of water. Releasing the hydrogen that fuels the small 3 cyl engine that runs the electric motors. -Matt
ripoff the state of michigan , after 0911, charged & sued & fined gas station owners in the state that gouged consumers in the following days ! the use of hydrogen gas as a fuel is still be tested. however, someone has to invent a safe method of storage for hydrogen for the cars/trucks , before it can be used in motor vehicles. remember the hindenburg ? gerry
