    1972Mach1 Just some M.M.O.G. guy.....

Well yesterday a buddy and I responded to a CL ad for "lots of old trucks, few cars $2500". Called him and asked about some stuff, man this guy was a talker but finally he said "You just have to come see for yourself, but I'm literally starving so be ready to buy". So we load up in the F100 and head 40 miles south to the podunk town of Victor. Pull up to the spot and first thing I see is 3 49-51 Fords and one with a chopped top. My kind of place. I can see a few more Ford cars and probably 10 trucks.

Up comes a little long hair 30 year old hippie kid, turns out this is his Dad's place who passed away and now he's basically trying to clean up the mess while trying to build a few trucks. No job, selling this stuff is how he's making his money. So I'm walking around thinking this little collection is it. Oh no, turns out he's got about 10 acres....well I take off like a kid in a candy store for the first time. There's short boxes, long boxes, 4x4s, 2wds, a suicide door Lincoln, unibodys, classic campers, buildings, chassis, everything you could think of. The guy is living in a mostly uninsulated and unfinished tiny house he's furnishing with stuff out of the yard's scrap pile. We make a pit stop in his house so he can have a "smoke" and meet his 3 legged cat. This dude is literally living on cereal and beer at this point.....We check out his Toyota Celica drift car with a Ford 302....

Anyway next stop is the "shop". We open the door and holy parts hoard! Stacks and stacks of grilles, interior stuff, outside trim, doors, everything. We go into his Dad's old "grow room" which is now a grille holding cell......anyway after dealing with him on a spare wheel and tire for my beater for $10, a grille for my buddy's '72 at $50, and some trim parts, on the way out we spot a small block Chevy in the scrap pile. "That's a 4 bolt main, it came out of a Z/28, you can have it, just get it out of here." Whatever, it's a free engine, we'll make a planter out of it. Well we pull the pan, and sure enough 4 bolt mains. Check the cast number and apparently it's either a 350 or an actual 302 from a '69 Z/28. We'll be figuring out what it is for sure, and if it is a 302 we will be attempting to get it to the rightful car in the future after we go back and finish picking it up......

On the way back home I swing by a little meth head dealership that's all gated up but used to have over 80 2nd gen Firebirds. Outside today? A super, mega clean Sportwagon! No answer on the phone, but I can probably get you in contact with the place if anyone is interested.......

Lots of pics, give me a minute to load all them.

This thread is useless without a picture of the three legged cat.

Oops! There it is. We were posting at nearly the same time.

A couple of those older trucks look like they’d make great projects! Was that a Duster or Demon too in the last picture?

Just a Duster, Jim, and I got dibs on the Plunge sign hahaha....There were some real nice trucks out there, about 20 of them are running and driving. That yellow 2wd with the custom wheels and red '77 F250 4x4 were two of the cleanest trucks I've ever seen. No rust ANYWHERE.....He said the yellow one will be parted out or just sit, sadly, as the bank has the title under his Dad's name and there is no way he said he could ever pay off the lien. There was also some real rare stuff: That black unibody with the topper has a factory big back window and the red F100 with the white hood has factory bucket seats and console, which I've never actually seen in person. Some prices on trucks and parts he was real reasonable on, some of them he's out in lala land, with no rhyme or reason. These pics don't do it justice, and I've got about 30 more on my phone. It was nuts.

One thing I forgot to mention: This guy says his Dad was a Chevy guy hahahaha......His Dad told him these Fords are the only things you can neglect this much and they'll still run and drive, so he started amassing them and all the parts. If anybody is interested or needs anything, let me know. He told me to stop by anytime, even if I'm not there to buy.

That brown one up against the fence is super clean, no engine, but he'll take $1500 (very tempting). The red/white shorty and big back window aren't for sale.

That's at the meth head car dealership. Literally middle of nowhere along side the highway, and literally a meth head. He had I think it was 87 2nd Gen Firebirds at one point, down to 20-30 now. Always has some cool stuff out there, but you can tell I was in a hurry to take the pics, as him and his super-methy wife live right on the property, and you never know what version of them you'll get. I can get you the number, but good luck getting in and out safely. I almost bought a 'Vette from him once, it was interesting to say the least.

It was very, very nice from what I could see. Appeared good enough to take to a show after a clean up. That's a new addition to the collection, I drive by at least once a month and have never seen it before Saturday.

That suicide door Lincoln is super cool! My cousins resto shop just finished a long term custom build on one of those for an NFL player (or maybe it was MLB, I dont remember, but anyway...), it was slick.
