More than likely, the auctioneer will scrap it or nobody will buy it because most younger people will see it as an old pile of junk. They would rather have a brand new Chinese made jack because it looks so much better!

When I'm working under a car, I'll often throw a wheel/tire under there in case the stands give out. If the car falls, I figure it won't crush like my chest will.

Much of the HF stuff isn't bad when you compare price vs quality. I've seen worse quality tools in other stores at double the price.
I highly recommend the $20 rechargeable led stick light.
The tool cabinets are super quality at a great price, tough to beat the value. Engine stands and engine hoists..... another great value.
I bought the wet tile saw and even a compactor when I did my driveway in pavers.... I could barely rent the stuff for what it cost to buy at HF. They both performed flawlessly.
Overall, the convenience and selection is fantastic. HF certainly has it's gems and it's junk, which can be said for many of it's competitors.

I have to say my Scary Freight engine hoist has earned it's keep many times over. It's lifted engines, bodies, industrial compressors, rooftop a/c units for well known hotel chains, all sorts of items. I couldnt ask for a better piece so far at 3x the price. Funny thing, I was watching Bitchin Rides recently, and they were putting in an engine with the exact same hoist. I was shocked (and at the same time kinda impressed...)

No worries! And I remember that being the only time I actually crapped through a pair of pants.

And I’m guilty of buying certain items from HF.

TexasT Texas, where are you from

I would have to think the chinesium craftsman stuff comes down the same line as the hf stuff. They just paint it a different color.

I have never been in Harbor Freight. I will never go in Harbor Freight.

I buy most of my tools at garage sales. I find those great American Made tools from the 50's, 60's 70's and 80's.

Most 0f those tools were made to last forever. Made in USA.

I use to be as good as Jason is at finding deals

A buddy of mine recently researched floor jacks before purchasing a new one. He found that all the cylinders are made in China now. Whether you buy a Snap-On, BlackHawk or what have you. He also said that the cylinder was designed for only so many cycles and then it’s toast. I’m still using an antique Black Hawk and an older Craftsman. Personally, I would shop Craigslist an find an older, high quality used jack and have it rebuilt if necessary.

Harbor Freight is good for those of who need a specialty tool once. Good specialty tools are really expensive. But if you only need it once it's a hard expense to justify. That's where HF comes in. They usually get the job done. But if I were a professional, never.
