Second time in a row getting sharp rock in MH drag tire at track and flat tire. My son almost hit wall first time. This time I caught it in staging lanes. After first time I put a tube in and then got pierced again next time at track. I guess gets pushed in in burnout....maybe hit it to clean tires off before burnout box.? Been racing 40 years and never had to do that before.....
i feel your pain, made the mistake of going to the drag strip {great lakes dragway} when they had a diesel truck day. i picked up 3 nails in one run. dumb a$$ guys running there work trucks spreading crap everywhere.
I don't fix as much stuff at the track anymore but one time at Cecil I put 3 plugs in a hole in a slick (3rd round) and then ran hoping the burnout would cauterize the wound....it worked for a few more passes but not the brightest thing to do looking back at it.
Before I had bead locks it spun the rim inside the tire and ripped the valve stem off. Stage, launch , right turn.
