He's just looking for a chew toy! I'd bet $100 those people have a dog and the gator knew it; he/she saw it on their property. I've lived in central and south Florida since 1978/ Gators only bite you when you when you ask them to. They don't pursue you like a croc will unless you get near their lair or their babies. Don't bring bait AKA your dog (they love dog) to the water to go fishing or skiing with you and you won't get bit. I have fished and skied and swam here since 1978 and only once had to move out of the way of a gator passing through. They are not like sharks that bite fist and ask questions later. Mikey

Some alligator comes after one of my dogs, and it will find itself as a new pair of boots and handbag, very quickly.. 'course not much problem with that in central MN, but they did find one in a lake recently.. was a Pet that got away, or was "disposed of".. JW
I came from da freakin' HOOD, a Louisville Slugger upside that gators head would make him think twice about commin' on my porch ! ! !
