Thanks for sharing this! (Re: The Tri-Shield truth.)

    Hi Ron and fans of da' Buick Tri-Shield, . . . . .

Thanks for sharing this little article! :TU:

It does a very good job of describing the different Buick emblems and how they fit into Buick's history.

I've bookmarked it to have it handy for later reference.

    Cheers, Edouard :beer

P.S. I have to confess though, no Buick emblem since 1960 is even remotely as nice looking at the original Tri-Shield. Come to think of it, ditto for the cars! [IMG]

That was a good read. Nice to see all the different logos used thru the years.

Kind of partial to the '59 version with the red, white, and blue. Although, I also like the current version of all chrome. Colors do tend to fade over time.

Just a coincidence of course, but I seem to have a fair bit in common with the history of the Tri Shield. Have some Scottish ancestry (not to mention the first name)....middle name is David......and of course like Buicks!:TU: Done my share of plumbing too, as far as that goes.

    That....and a buck, should get me a coffee.:bla:

Cool article have always been curious about the emblem and how it evolved and the date that Buick was incorporated (may 19) is my wife and I's wedding anniversary . Unfortunately when I told her she didn't seen to share my enthusiasm ...

"By 1960, the logo went from one shield to the tri-shield, representing the three Buick models then being built, LeSabre, Invicta and Electra."

This was news to me. Who would have thunk that.
