STAGE III Lost Experimental 455-4 Bolt Main Block.

:3gears: Okay, I am sitting on a huge pile of parts to install so I better start listing pictures of the transformation before I get to far out.

I have always wanted a 70 GSX 455 Stage 1 Four speed and I have literally been collecting parts for the right car for over 30 years.
Thought I would never see it happen after Dad died, the family business tanked, wife got Stage 3 breast cancer(survived Praise God : ) and I took a low paying job just to put food on the table for our family of 5. Then came the accident about 4 years ago that wrecked me. Been through several surgeries and have more to go and a long long way to restore my own body but in the midst of all this I NEVER,EVER in my wildest dreams thought a broke and broken old fat guy like me would see my dream car come true.
Just goes to show God can do anything regardless of our best thinking and the proof is sitting in my driveway. A non vinyl top,non side molding, 72 GS with a 72 455 and M-20 Muncie 4 speed. Other than converting it to a 70 everything else checked off the Fritzee boxes with the most important also being the low price and bartering stuff I already owned with the previous owner!

I haven't really decided whether the car is restoring me or I am restoring it but I am fairly sure it is good for both of us:)

Both the car and I were sitting around getting worse and worse. Since getting it I have thrown out pain meds, anti depressants and most all the other junk the Doctors and surgeons loaded me up with and I am trading it in for passion, obsession, and a never give up motto. Enough of all that though, time to post some pictures.

Before that I did want to say Thank You again for the encouragement, patience, endless digging for the exact parts I have needed and just good and helpful folks here. I am doing 99% of this car by myself so it is very nice to have a collection of buddies to give me an ole "Atta Boy!" when days are rough.

So the car goal is to build an old school barn find 1970 Buick GSX Stage 1 Four speed. It will incorporate all my decades of parts collections and what I secure here. All I know, mainly due to the rough & faded patina of the car is that every time I look at the car it gives me the same adrenaline
rush as I remember experiencing back in the 1980's when I would about break my neck to get a longer look at a ripe for the picking worn down GS or the even rarer GSX. May sound slack not restoring the car fully(exception of interior, trunk & engine compartment) but I can say keeping this whole thing uniform and matching while odd has it's own snickering satisfaction when I find just the right rusty bolt(Yes! Perfect! Lol) spray just enough paint or clear to keep it looking unrestored.

Ah, still typin, "Just post the pictures Fritz!"

    Okay,I will try again lol now......Project X & The Poor Touring:TU:

Yesssssssssssssssssss more Saturn yellow sprayed out of a high dollar (well almost $1) 50 cent garage sale mini sprayer.

Did a perfect sputtering uneven patina job!:Brow: Let it cure a few days and then scotch brite and it will look perfectly bad:TU:

Now thanks to John K. I will be up most of the night figuring out how to mount this Super Cool (darn near Groovy!)Back in the Day, Ram Air Poston Spoiler onto my trashed front bumper! Good problem to have though:TU:

Well my buddy who came over to drink my beer ,& read from my extensive Buick library, asked me before getting up to leave (not enough time to help:rolleyes::Dou: but is a good guy) asked me "Are you going to at LEAST take the black spray paint (from the previous owner) off the top of the passenger fender?
Although my intentions were to never (like as in EVER) even wash this car to maintain the patina I finally cracked and wet sanded most of that out and OF COURSE once that was disturbed I had to do the rest of that side before I was outta Fritzee gas.
Was looking pretty darn good in the early morning light I thought NOW if I can get someone to transform the car load of boxes in the interior into a functioning tire burnin machine!!!:3gears::3gears::3gears:

Gonna keep pushin on the X though but gotta get the Fritzinator shifting arm rebuilt for those crushing speed shifts:3gears:

Glad to at least find out part of what was wrong, wonder if Hurst makes Super Comp Cartilage?
