Most of us have or had a "better half" that deal with our crazy love and addiction for cars and stand by us no matter how far down the rabbit hole we go! My wife recently gave me the green light to proceed with the very costly undertaking of rebuilding a new engine for my Riv. She understands how much these things cost and the time it takes to build them right. After watching me spend hours and hours of time working on the block and heads, collecting parts and prepping for the machine shop work for the last two years I ended up at a stand still. I explained to her that I can't go any further until the machining is done and that's where it really starts to get expensive so I guess I'll have to shelf this project for later on. She said no, I know how bad you want this and sometimes "someday" never comes, we had a good year for business and money isn't too tight and it's not a ground up resto so our two little kids won't suffer if you spend a few hrs here and there assembling the engine. So without wasting any time I dropped the block and heads off at the machine shop on friday morning :) and I'm excited that this is actually happening! My wife listened to me all day as I talked of my plans for the engine and how I'm going to do this and that and she never complained a bit. Laying there watching TV friday night my wife says "I text you something" so I checked my phone and looked at what she sent me, I instantly started laughing. She said to me "with all this hype about the new engine this better be me when it goes in":p:D:)

And that is why she is my Better Half:) Resized_FB_IMG_1593826203943.jpeg

Good to have a BETTER HALF that not only allows this habit, but ENDORSES it as well.

Cool! I'm glad that my wife is into cars as well. I see too many of the married car guys I know that are always alone at cruises, shows and the track. Some just aren't interested and worse yet, some would rather the guy sell the car. You are one of the lucky guys who chose a good, supportive better half.
Tell the Lady she has a fan here!

Sounds like she's a keeper my friend!
You might have to get the full panty dropper exhaust for maximum effect

My wife isn't interested, which is fine (I like going to shows, etc. by myself) but seems to like/support that I am into it.

Our better halves can't get enough good things said about them. We spent a month up at her Mom's while I worked on my car's body, and she took care of our two grandchildren, 7 months and 2 years old. Really a handful for her, since I was busy all day sanding, priming, helping get ready to weld new metal into the body mounts and holes, then getting things ready for paint. Not once did she complain, even though I could see she was a little bedraggled. My wife knows how much I love her, and my Wildcat. At least we had our trailer so she had someplace to care for the kids. My wife is amazing.:)

My wife always says I'd sell her before I would sell the GN. She is irritated about how many years the GS is taking -- my 12 year old doesn't even remember the car -- but she at least looks the other way and says nothing if I at least try to hide what I spend.
Heck, she got my GN detailed for my birthday without my knowing it. (got her Enclave done too -- she aint dumb). Pleasant surprise to say the least.
