On a different note and not to hijack the thread. Soooo many guys have no idea how to set up a carb or that it needs to be. They live with bog, rich, lean, no choke or just plain over/under carbed combos. Their cars run horrible or leave so much on the table.

At a Buick meet in Reynolds Georgia 12+ years ago and this poor guy with a gorgeous GS was running high 14's and just mad as hell with his new performance build. No one went up to him and told him it had carb issues (I could hear it). I've been building hypo Q's for three decades, took mine off and put it on his car and checked timing; low 13's first pass smoking the tires off the line because he expected it to hesitate, couple of passes later he got 12.8's. I let him take it out on the street to show him you can build a Q-jet with no bog or flat spots anywhere. He was all smiles. He sent me his carb and I fixed it.

Point is too many guys buy a carb and expect it to do everything right straight out of the box. The odds are against that.

Again sorry for changing direction of the post.
