I'm not quite ready to spend $2k to have my TH400 rebuilt. Anyone in the vicinity of Washington DC/VA/MD with a running unit for sale? Thanks, Tom

I called four shops in the area, some from Angie's List, one recommended by a Mustang owner/friend. $1950-$2100 for a rebuild if tranny is still in the car. If I bring the tranny in w/out car, I would save up to $400 depending on which shop I went with. Thanks, Tom

Northern Virginia prices unfortunately. Housing prices are even worse.

It depends on what you are having done. The street/strip transmissions that I normally have built are $1200-$1300.00. The one that I am building now will end up being $4k,BUT I am also using Reid main case, ultra bell, and tail. Everything inside is aftermarket.

Thanks for the offer hugger. I'm planning to spend the next week or so making some additional calls, see if I can't find something local. I'm sure I can find someone for the removal and installation - I will get additional details for that during this next round of phone calls. Thanks, Tom

I have one, but I'm also in NY. The rebuilt TH400 has less than 2000 miles on it. Has a B&M shift kit with 8" Transmission specialties converter 2400/2800 stall. Includes kick down switch and pick up tube. I bought it from a member to swap my SP400 but decided to keep what I have. Been sitting in my garage for a few years, time to move some stuff. $600.
