So what should it cost me to have a 72 TH350 rebuilt at a reputable shop?

Any recommendations for a good trans shop in Central Florida?

    Anyone?

Someone must have had one of these re built in the last few years.

Ed, it's going to vary depending on where you are. My guess is 600-800.00 depending on how stout you need it. All you have to do is make a few phone calls to rebuilders in your locale.

Thanks Larry, I made a few calls and they were coming in higher than that. Was just looking for a baseline from experience

I had my T-350 trans rebuilt by Vince Janice a couple years ago, he's well know in the Turbo Buick arena, plus hes local to me, in Akron Ohio.
Cost me 450.00 cash, that included the good clutches and steels.
Also had a 32 or 34 element sprag (cant remember which number:rolleyes:) that cost me an additional 400.00 from Summit Racing

Has anyone tried different rebuild kits themselves? Would like some direction on what to avoid or lean to. Thanks.

TexasT Texas, where are you from

I would say, do a search on YouTube and watch some vids on overhauling a th350. Imo, if you can pull one out and put it back in and it works, you have the ability. Though you will probably need a few tools and such or the fab skills to make them. I bought the trans tools I have off eBay. I did a lot of reading and asking questions on forums like this. I put together a game plan, list of the tools and the parts I wanted to include and went about collecting that up. If you are in a hurry my way probably isn't for you. If you want to learn and get the experience, and be able to tell people "I assembled it" then you might want to look into it.

It depends on the HP level you plan to subject it to. I have a nice th-350 here built for 800 Hp, was about $2200

Don't have the tools the room, or the time to take on something like this, found a reputable shop near me that rebuilt it quickly and for less than anticipated. Thanks all for the responses.
