Have a 72 gs 350 4 speed no air and on some of the cars i have, there is a 5 W. 150 ohm resister across the wires (pink and pink/blk) to TCS, others it is cut off with 2 wires sticking out.
Does this res. need to be on there to work on 4 speed or auto trany cars only? They are so butchered that i can't tell.

Dan, the resistor came on auto cars only.

Resistor was used for radio interference suppression, similar to diodes/capacitors in other places around the car.
A number of them in the alternator frame, one at the park brake frame, one at the regulator, certain big cars had them across the blower motor for the fan, one across the engine harness etc.
Going on memory as all my documents & drawings went with the car when it sold.
