Please read my initial response. It's not TA getting stiffed it is YOU the customer who is at jeopardy. Even though we are a small company we have our finger on the pulse of the debit card situation, again see the first post. You will never incur interest if you have the money in your bank account and you can pay the credit card company monthly. Every grocery store offers money orders. But I'm not trying to make it look like the customer has to bend over backwards to do business with TA. A vast majority of TA's customer base prefer to use a credit card as their primary mode of payment, so with my posts I was just trying to explain the risks that are taken when using a debit card. Again, I will say TA is different than other companies, we care about our customers, we care about Buicks and we care about them (both) being around for the next 20 years or more. Not taking a debit card reflects that we have put more effort into understanding the risks of those types of transactions than most companies have, including the person at your local bank who told you that it was the same as a credit card. Not sure what else to say about this, but hopefully it won't be I told you so.
