Any chance of seeing this picture again? Getting ready to do some for my '70 8.2 rear. It looks like I've copied your setup to a large extent. TA No Hop Bars, HR Parts and Stuff rear sway bar. I'm using HR Parts and Stuff (non-adjustable)rear upped & lower control arms.
I tried the TA No-Hop Upper Bar mounts, the Edelbrock (QA1) No-Hop Upper bar mounts, as well as the Southside Machine Lower No-Hop bars. They all worked fine though ultimately I ended up with a pair of the Art Morrison/Gazan 3-Position Upper No Hop Bar Mounts and their Adjustable Upper Control Arms. They work the best for my Skylark as I can quickly change the instant center setting and pinion angle to taylor my tire-to-track "Hit" to any track condition as well as for optimum street use. I complimented them with Global West Lower Drag (no sway bar mount holes) Control Arms. Sway bar is now the Spohn Performance Solid bar link style which I welded the perch mounts to the axle tubes. You guys are much more serious and deliberate about this than I am. Also pushing a lot more hp than I'll be getting from my 350. The reason I'm making these changes is I'll be running street tires with my car. Probably overkill on my part.
The mouths of the two bars are different and the one on the passenger side actually fits more cleanly on the other side and vice versa. By cleanly I mean centered on the webbing and not making contact with parts of the diffrrential housing.
If you think some grinding will fix that, by all means, grind away. Mine have been on for 10 years or more, can’t remember having any problems with fit on either my 8.2 or the current 8.5 rear.
The most important thing when installing any brand of the no- hop bars (I've installed quite a few) is to make sure and measure the distance on each side from outside of the center hole of the upper control arm bushing (you can an install an OEM pointed bolt facing outward to use as a measuring point) to the far upper front corner of the axle housing end flange where the brake backing plate mounts, ... or you can measure to the front outside corner of the coil spring pad. You want to make sure that distance is equal on both sides before you drill the holes for the small bolts. Then if you need to clearance the housing or bars to achieve that equal distance you will be fine. That way when you install the upper control arms they will be mounted symmetrically and they will allow the whole axle assembly to travel properly. Larry
