Has anyone used the TA Performance TA 1511C in a 67 Skylark? TA claims it has to be modified but cant explain what modifications need to be done. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

From what I can see, the only difference between that pan and a stock one is the back of the sump. If you have single exhaust, the cross over pipe will be a problem, so as long as you have dual exhaust, it should be OK.

I bought one of these for my 67 Skylark and it simply did not fit. Unfortunately, i was trying to change the pan without fully pulling the engine so things were a bit cramped to begin with. The back lip hit the flywheel and about half of the holes did not line up. I went back and forth with TA and they did not let me return for a refund because of the statement on the website that some modifications may be necessary. Like that's their out in case something isn't right. I had a horrible experience with them and haven't purchased anything from them since.

Guitargroper - what engine did you have in the 67? Was it the TA 1511C pan?

I have a 455 in the car and I'm pretty sure it was this oil pan.

So which pan did you use that fit?

Half the holes did not line up? If it is a 400-430-455 pan, that is hard to understand.

I ended up modifying the stock pan. I was having crank clearance problems with the original pan so I wanted to use the one from TA. Turns out I was better off cutting an original pan and welding in an extension. I sent a ton of pictures to TA and they wouldn't stand behind it. If you lined up the holes for the front cover then the rear of the pan would hit the flywheel. The sides of the pan stuck out too far and hit the motor mounts. Several of the holes didn't line up. It just wasn't right.

I for one would like to see some of those pictures. Can you post some? Sounds like the pan was designed for a different engine.:)

Im In agreement with above.. I don't understand why TA would not have wanted it back to see for themselves just what the $%&.

    Things happen.

Here are some pics. My mistake, the pan hits the end of the crank, not the flywheel.

When were you doing this??.. I know there was some growing pains with that pan when it first came out, but I have used a dozen or so of them, with no issue...

These pictures were taken June 26 of 2017. What really got under my skin was that they were kind of jerks about it. They just kept saying that the website does say that some modifications may be required. They definitely lost a customer.

Their aluminum pan fits extremely well on my 455 motors..That's kind of a bummer there..

Where are the bolt holes on the bottom of the timing cover. There should be two holes on the front lower rail of the pan.I put a pan from TA on my motor years ago no problem TA1511c.
