Up for sale are two sets of TA Performance pushrods. These sell for $115 from TA. "Our TA 1423 series pushrods are the best on the market. Made from .080” thick, 5/16” O.D., chrome moly tube, these pushrods offer the strength required for increased spring pressures while still maintaining a small O.D. for lighter valve train weight as well as maximum clearance in the pushrod hole of the cylinder head. We stock these pushrods in several lengths to accommodate most combinations." I've got two sets available. Both have been stored in my indoor, heated shop. TA1423-9.350: Nearly new, never used. Mocked up in engine only. $50 shipped. TA1423-9.400: Approximately 300 easy miles. $30 shipped.
Not measuring before buying is how I came to own so many pushrods I don't need . Let the record show that I advised you to get an adjustable pushrod, and use it to measure what length pushrod will fit your block, head, cam, lifter, and head gasket combination the best. Off the record, TA claims that 9.350" is the stock length for a 455. I bought them, and found them to be too short on my combo- stock deck height, unmilled heads, with the TA Orange Crush head gasket. I have two cores laying around, a 1970 and a 1974. All of the pushrods from those (presumably stock?) motors measured 9.375", and they were a perfect fit for my combination. I am running a Lunati cam, which may or may not have the same base circle as the stock, or the TA cams, which would change my pushrod length requirement. Lots of factors go into this, best to just measure.
Yes Sir Michael, one of my buddies has quite the collection of push rods with almost the same story so I best wait till I have everything together and borrow his adjustable one to measure. Thanks for being upfront and for the advice : )
