Dave, you're a heck of a nice guy and a pleasure to do business with. So, is your boss going to have the 64-67 Stage 2 headers done by MY birthday? :Brow:
Ok, I've been keeping my mouth shut, but dang it, what the heck is "reet"?????? I haven't seen a single other user here make use of that term...must be a PA thing, eh? Oh, and Happy B-day, Dave! :beer
I was pondering that too, thought maybe it was a tpyo. o No: I remember in high school the word 'reet' refered to an ugly girl. "ie" She's a reet. And happy birthday Dave, Hope you have a good one! And I hope you get my money order for my exhaust in the mail today.:Brow: I can't wait to install it!
Meaning of REET I looked it up on the net http://www.pseudodictionary.com/search.php reet - Old English dialect meaning "right" or "the best" or "perfect." Hot rodders know it because the now decfunct _Hot Rod Magazine_ writer Gray Baskerville used to say "Street is reet," meaning "Street rods (or street class designations in drag racing) are the only way to go." e.g., As Jack got off the ride, he exclaimed,"That roller coaster is reet.."
REET, indeed! Hep-cat rodders in the early 60's (read American Grafitti era) used it a lot. Mostly a west coast thing. I've used it since I saw AG and began reading Hot Rod as a kid (thanks Gray!). Like " bitchin' ", it connotes something one thinks to be above cool. Pass it on... Oh, and BTW Marco, with my job crashing around me this week (looks bad, y'all) you gave me my first real smile in a week! Thanks, it was really reet.
