If I use a TA 113 cam what valve springs will I need? In the catalog they don't say that you need TA valve springs, but other cams with similar lift they recommend that you use their valve springs.

    Thanks

Kennedy-Bell first developed the KB 118, 113 and 107 cams ,they used what they called their 107 springs, Poston ent. also used the 107 springs for their similar cams. TA's 118 and 113 cams are similar to the KB versions and can use the 107 springs too, now called 1107 springs in TA catalog. I usually set them up atn 1.85" and the provive 115-120# on the seat. The small diameter 1.36" allows stock rockers or roller rockers without worry of rubbing.

Thanks for the reply. Will I need any other aftermarket equipment to accomodate this cam? Do I need different retainers or anything?

The 1107 is a dual spring set, that will require new retainers, and more importantly machine work to the heads to fit the inner spring.

For a single spring with damper, just like what your heads have on them from the factory, use the TA 1435 Stage 1 spring, I used that in a stock engine with a 113 cam, in my tow vehicle for many years.. worked great.

That spring is a direct drop in replacement for the current springs, using all the current hardware.

Should I replace the cam bearing? I'm on a budget and would rather not if it wasn't absolutely necessary
