Hi! We're planning on heading to the US this spring for a roadtrip in kalifornia. Maybe we will do Route66 at least a part of it. I wonder where the best places are to find car parts in this area? I have a Buick -57 who needs some parts. Are there some junkyards near by? Maybe any car events who sells old car parts? ALL suggestions are welcomed! Kindly Regards /Christine
Welcome! I hope you really enjoy visiting and meeting people here. I’m not knowledgesble about specific places out west other than being aware of Desert Valley Auto Parts in Phoenix Arizona, but wish you luck! Patrick in Georgia.
Sounds like a fun trip, a bucket list item for me anyway. That's the best place to find dry, rust-free parts, maybe there's an online listing somewhere. Like Patrick said, I'm not from that area either but there are probably board members who are. Hopefully some will chime in. Good luck on your journey, and welcome to the family! Philip T.
You should get a Hemmings magazine. They have tons of classified ads including a bunch of the "out west" junkyards. Good luck on your ventures and enjoy your trip!!!
Hi Patrick! Thank you a lot! Its a dream come true so I will sure enjoy it a lot! Cant wait! Kindly regards Christine
Hi Philip! Yea I bet theres a lot of good stuff to find if you know where to look. Thank you so much! Kindly regards Christine
Hi! Ok thank you very much I will try to see if I can get me one of those magazines. Sounds like a good idea! Thank you so much! Kindly regards Christine
To be clear you should get ‘Hemmings Motor News’; it’s the thick book of classified ads. (Hemmings publishes a few other monthlies that are magazines, not classified ads). You can subscribe electronically if you can’t find a print copy. https://www.hemmings.com/ Patrick
Drip rail stainless molding? If so, buy a good used one and send it out to be straightened and polished. It will look better than NOS.
Perhaps the Buick Farm has some parts that you need: https://www.buickfarm.com/component...[tags][0]=110&redform[2][typeid]=2&redirect=1
Hi! Thank you for your tip! Much to find out there! When I asked for roofrail I meant the rubber roof rail. Heard it's hard to find those in good quality!
Hej Christine, hvis i skal forbi Steelerubber.com, kan i da tage lister hjem til mig? Bor i Danmark, så told+moms+fragt er dyrere end listerne.. Hi Christine, if you're going to visit steelerubber.com, would you take some weatherstrip with you home for me? Live in Denmark, so tax+fee+shipping is more expensive than the rubber..
Their road trip is on the west coast. Steele Rubber is located in my state which is on the east coast. The only time SR travels near the west coast is the SEMA show in November, 2019: SHOW LOCATION DATE *Autorama Detroit, MI Mar 1-3 Run to the Sun Myrtle Beach, SC Mar 21-23 Charlotte Auto Fair Charlotte, NC Spaces JB39-49 Apr 4-7 *Refit International Exhibition and Conference Ft.
