    3shields Let's go, MOUNTAINEERS!!!

    Sway bar

I have one on my '70 from a '79 TA with the WS6 package. You use the the stock swaybar links from the GS, but use the sway bar bushings listed for the sway bar. It REALLY tightens the front of the car up. Look at the under-car photo i have posted under Members Cars, and you will see it installed.

Works great. Put one on mine last year. Different car on the road.
Later I added the rear bar, big improvement again.

Let me finish this up by saying I have one on my 72 GS clone. You will not regret putting it in. Just watch the Tierod end clamps.....

Same with my 68, it handles like it's not the same car. I also did not pay attention to the tie rod clamps when I swapped... oops! By the time I figured out what was rubbing from time to time, I had almost completely worn thru the head of one of the bolts. They were turned towards the rear, not a problem with the smaller stock bar, but... :Dou:

Rear bar is a stock bar for an A-body.Don't think the TA or Camaro will fit.
Repro's are readily available. Others here may be able to specify which vendors have them. You will need to modify/replace your rear control arms to use the sway bar.

Hey Luke, make sure you get a 1-1/4 front bar, many F- bodies (Z-28s) only had a 1-1/8 dia. Most Trans Am and Formula cars seemed to have that handling package, clear up to '81.... Also, we had a member here with trouble mounting one and I think he had it upside- down to begin with......
