suspension upgrades or not?

I'm going to be building my 72 GS engine in the near future. I'll only be shooting for about 400hp and 475ft/lbs or less. Will this amount of power require having additional upgrades to the rear suspension? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Kind of a broad question, not knowing what you want to do with the car - Short answer is: if youre just going to spin the tires every once in a while, and everything is in good shape witha good working posi, no.

If you want to launch the car hard a lot, install Dane/Spicer U-Joints, Aitlift airbags, F-41 braces, boxed lower control arms with sway bar and if you're into extra insurance, replace the rear axle shafts . The airbags should take care of axle hop, but if not use TA Anti Hop bars, and if you are going to corner hard, at least replace the outer axle bearings and seals with new, correct stuff from JD Race.

Thank you Bigpig455. I was planning on taking it to the track every once in awhile, so I'll take your advice on the upgrades needed.
