I had them n ther ebut not in that pic . I am running 265 60 radial ta's on 7's with no ill effects on the tire wear . I installed the 8" wheels and the offset was a little to much to the outside and even though it did not hit the quarter it would rub on curves . It neve cut the rubber but made it shiney . I went back to the repo 15X7 WG and they look very good John
15x8 and it was rubing, some guys get 15x10 with no rub... Hey Michael Evans, whats are the spec of the rears wheels on the pic of your car????? (1999 before resto pic, above)...... those looks like 15x10 buick ralleys with 295....???
15X10 with 5" off set :error: (should have gotten 5 1/2"). They fit well but I'm limited on street tire sizes. Going to shop around for a taller tire when these wear out Tires are Mickey Thomson 26x10.5
Hey Mike, I think it look really good with that tire!!Its low and Large!!!I like it!!!..........And John, you only need to had the power seat to your wifes car and the car will be fully loaded!!!!!!!!!!!hehe
Suncoupe GSX? Several years ago there was a GSX Suncoupe at a local car show. I think it was a 71 but it could have been a 72. Back then I did not realize how rare they were or I would have looked closer. Were there any Suncoupe GSX's produced? Never saw the car again. Bert
Re: Suncoupe GSX? As far as we know there are no GSX Suncoupes built . The Suncoupe option was available in 72 with a folding top and in 73/74 with a hard sliding sunroof either manual or electric . The sunroof option cost more than the Stage 1 option . No Suncoupes were built in the 71 model year . Now as I understand it a Stage 1 , 455 or 350 Suncoupe GSX could exist . If it does and has documentation I would be very interested .
Folding roof I remember it had the folding roof and was a light blue color, probably a clone. But it was very very nice... If it ever turns up around here again I will investigate. The car show was in an adjacent county and I have not been back to any more shows in that area since. Bert
I don't believe it would be original. Would be 1 of 1. All SunCoupes are 72's. Very few GS's had them. I've seen 3 Stage 1's ( I own 1 ) a GS 455 and a GS 350. I run the SunCoupe registry started in the early 90's. Steve
I remember a dark green 72 Stage 1 suncoupe at the GS nats years ago. Had a white top and white interior. Anyone remember this one?
That car was Heritage green . If you saw it at night it might seem dark but its a brilliant green . Other than that one I have seen only 1 other GS suncoupe at the NATS and its a yellow 4spd 350 car I must retract that statement there was a blue with white /white GS455 Suncoupe at the NATS about 9 years ago . I understand that Jim Poston have a triple white GS455 Suncoupe . I now have the remnants of a GS 350 Suncoupe . That was a riv color a double sco
I am now on the trail of a reported Stage 1 Suncoupe undergoing a resto in California. I'll keep looking till I find out if its for real. FWIW I know of a 73 triple black 4 spd Stage 1 Suncoupe and its pretty close to my place.
There was a yellow one here in memphis on craigslist I'm sure it never sold. I also didnt realize how rare they where... I think they wanted like 8 grand for it but it looked like it was in good condition.
In about '92 I was visiting a friend in Athens, Ga. His neighbor (college student, about 20) was driving a really pretty light brown or copper colored one. His dad ran an auction somewhere in Georgia and it was sent there. He liked it and bought it. It was really clean, mostly original, and I think he bought it very reasonably. I wonder where it is now? Patrick

About 9 years ago there was a guy who had a 72 suncoupe up around the Ottumwa iowa area. Can't rememberbthe guys name. Same guy I bought the first Staged car off of.
