this is a dumb question but i noticed that when i turn the ignition switch to start my 65 the oil light does not go on like the temp and gen lights do and go off at start up,my question is can u guys check to see if your cars do the same?just to see if i have a burnt bulb?

    Thanks

    George,
The oil light should come on when the key is turned to "On". The temp light should only be lit while the engine is cranking.
A quick test for a burned out bulb is to leave the key "On" and ground the wire at the oil or temp sending units. The lights should go on and then off when ungrounded. If they don't light, you either have a burned out bulb or a wiring problem.

    George,
Try grounding the wire at the sender to the block. If the light comes on, I would suspect the sender went bad.
    See what happens from there.

Same problem on my 64 Rivi when I bought it. Turned out bulb and wiring were good, sender was bad.
