    Hey all!

Does anyone have good tips on installing the stripe package on a 1970 GS?

    Any tips or pointers?

    Thanks!

Don't buy the phoenix graphix kit. Do the hood and spoiler free hand. I think I'm going to do the entire thing free hand next time, too. I will have more hair left at the end of the day.

Agree, the "kit" is a joke. I've never used one but had a a fella bring me one for an Oldsmobile and after 20 min it went into tbe garbage.

Once you have the 1/4 panel turns made that will be your starting point. Tbe spoiler determines where those will fall. Measure up from the body line and put a piece of masking tape and use it as visual guide as to where to "land" the turn.
Then do the same on the handle area, and then pull the tape to that point then touch it and pull to front of the door. This is where it gets aggravating, getting over the fender/door gap without the stripe getting stupid. But use pieces of tape positioned where you need the stripe be set. Do you want them buried in the clear or on the surface?

Ok, first Buick failure. I bought the kit...‍♂️ What makes it terrible? I have put C stripes on a superbee before and those are a nightmare

They are the wrong dimensions. I spent an entire day just masking the car because I had to keep doctoring up the stencils. Best to use the factory measurements and do it by hand.

Is the parts place kit any better?

Not sure...there are several vendors and I have heard that you have to modify all of them to an extent.

I have the same. Except I have decals. The hood however has to be painted due to the contours.
