After tumbling with the idea, and with help from a CNC guy, here is the stock ratchet shifter. Fits in the console and you can either drive it as normal, or when you go racing be able to hit the gears 1-2-3 instead of going from 1st to neutral. It needs a minor adjustment, otherwise it is 99% ready. Would this be anything Buick folks would like? I have a video in use, but can’t uploade it.
This one is made for the 70-72 shifter, I dont know if the 68-69 is the same, but I am pretty sure it can be made if I got a plate. I have a video of it in use, but Cant upload it here, dont know why.
I modified the stock plate in the 80s to race my GSX. I had it so you could slam 2-3 and not hit neutral. Everything else was left stock. Some model of that shifter don't have a bolt in removable plate so that would be only issue. I think they would sell!
If only I could upload the video, you will see that you can slam 1-2, click the lever and slam from 2-3, then you need to lift the lever before you can go to neutral.
