Yes, Bob has Herche rods and pistons. But, this is a complete Herche Engine
This car runs in NHRA Stock Eliminator, L stock automatic. (L/SA)
The engine has a stock lift cam with 392 intake lift and 408 exhaust lift
    Stock compression engine.
Stock intake manifold and stock quadra jet
The car weighed 3780 on this pass
    1.54 60ft
7.34 ish in the 1/8 over 90 mphs
11.749, sorry do not know the mph
moroso springs in front airbags in back very mild suspension tune, no added traction bars.

Guy's this 350 is built by Herche Racing Engines. Gary is a long time Buick racer. He used to run a 72 red Stage1 (still has it) and also drove for Fred Catlin for years.
If you want to talk to Gary about any brand of engine questions, just let us know.

Its been a while since I' ve been on here. Went to the Joliet points with new motor with the new rods. These are direct replace ment with the stock rod If you get the heavy rod. You wont find a better rod. Had it on the dyno and every thing went well. Got a new cam from Gary and have not put it in yet. Will do this in the winter. The cam i have in the motor is down on HP. It only went 12,02 at Joliet.

12.02 is still very impressive for a Buick 350 with no head porting, stock lift cam, stock intake and Q-jet!

I do not have the stock rod weight handy but the lighter versions are stronger than the stock weight version and lighter by 90 grams. Combine this with a light piston and spin to 7500 rpm!

I have not been on here for quite a while.

I have had several people email me and ask questions about these rods but nobody wants to commit to anything.
We are looking at another run and crunching numbers for the cost.

I need people to step up and ORDER some rods

the more people that commit to ordering the lower the price will be.

Everyone step up and let me know if you want these rods!!!!

I spoke to Herche Performance Engines about a run of rods.

The rods have to be ordered as 5 sets.

The faster we have them spoken for the faster we can get the project started.

1295.00 for the rods. Deposits will need to be taken to confirm both the buyer's interest and limit Herche's liability if people order but back out.

I have not seen any response yet, but now you know the details.

PLEASE STEP UP QUICKLY! It is going to take a couple of months to have production made at the vendor. Who wants the best (only) Buick 350 rod?

If you order our pistons, there will be no modifications needed, these rods and pistons will be the perfect combination for your Buick 350!!!!! Our rod will replace any failure point that used to be with the stock rod!

I urge people to order these rods if they want a stock replacement rod that can handle superchargers, nitrous, turbos ect. I bought 2 sets of these rods and they were worth every penny. They also come with ARP bolts btw.

    Hi Guys,
I don't want to seem to be hurrying everyone, but, if you want these for a winter project, I can't get you a set of these in a weeks notice like an off the shelf chevy rod. It will take our manufacturer time to get into production and the finished machining completed. Anyone?

So far, I have had zero response. Herche feels he has 1 set spoken for. For us to order, we need more than 1 needed. Like I have said before, I have had a few people PM or email me but no one is interested in buying, just asking questions. So if you really want another run of these rods someone needs to order, please. If no responses, it is difficult to say when we will have them made.

I really appreciate the kind words from those who have these rods! They are exactly what you want and expect and Made in the USA!

    troy,
can you make them .050 longer?

  17. tdacton

    tdacton Gold Level Contributor

I would need to ask, but, if you bought our rod and piston, I believe we would just put the pin in the piston in a location that would add the .050 height.
Is that what you are thinking?

Herche Performance Engines in Indiana is ready to order our STOCK weight performance rods. We can only order these rods with a minimum quantity of 5 sets. So, Here is the question....

Who will step up and commit to buy a set of rods that will support ~900 hp and know the crank or the block will go before these rods?

When you say, I want a set, know that we must have them paid for up-front.
People on the board here know I am an upstanding guy and honesty/trust are the only way I will operate.

    Please let us know
