I've only seen rust colored ones in the past but... while it's apart I should paint them. It's a 69 400, thanks R
Take a look at this thread with references to Calyx. I used it with great success on calipers. http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/looking-for-a-cast-iron-paint-color.317614/#post-2647769 UticaGeoff
Calyx is best. Only one that can be constantly repaired with a gloved finger. All the paints will burn off. All originals rusted on the sales lot.
It sounds stupid, but I've had the best luck with Rustoleum Grill Paint - I just shot mine with silver, but you could mix it with a little black to make more of a cast grey color I suppose. I did mine probably 4 years ago and hundreds of 1/4 mile passes and they still look like i just shot them. It out lasted my other manifolds painted with expensive Eastwood manifold paint....
Those look great, where did you have them done? How much should I expect to pay for ceramic coating? Thanks
I had mine done locally here in Ottawa, Ontario. I don't remember what I paid, but I think it was in the $200-300 range. Cheers Randy
What would be the correct color for a 70 gs 455 on the exhaust manifold and what brand to buy works the best.
