My question is are all 400/430/455 made from the same metal or are some stronger than others.

Most of the cranks I have seen have a N on the side, but some do not. Are these without weaker, stronger, just made some place else......or was it just a marking not put on later cranks.

All my other cranks I have no way to tell if they are original to the motors they came from, but the one without I know came from NOS block that I cleaned the cosmo off of it.......

yep, when we can offset grind a rod journal .25" for a 494, make over 700hp and spin it to 6500rpm, without a failure, its pretty strong.

I'm picking a crank for our new block being built, and I was plan on using the NOS never even fired crank from the NOS block, but I noticed it did not have an N on it and I didn't know if the later motors were still nodular or just a plain cast.

I don't know if we are going to do a 464,470,482,494. Just want the best crank I have for it, but don't have $ for the bigger stroker cranks.

It's going to be a drag race only motor, full girdle, full fill block, all the good stuff.
