Ray please provide measurements of the Cold Case radiator. Hight and width of radiator core and height and width of the overall radiator.

Again, many thanks to all for providing input - perspective is always important in tacking any repair. Of course the coolant ratio is relative depending on climate, and here in sunny California 50/50 is preferred. It's supposed to get over 100 here today.

I may just leave the thermostat in, as it's only been in the engine for the last 5 years or so and seems to be opening/closing just fine.

Okay, it's in. Filled it up, fired up the engine & ran for a spell - no leaks & my temp gauge is staying nice & cool as before: about half way between C and the middle hash mark.

Only one snag: the upper transmission cooler line fitting on this model is about 1-2 inches lower than the original. My fault for not noticing it in the pictures, there's a heater return hose fitting where that upper cooler line is normally located. Luckily for me, I had a steel line bending tool & just added a few minor bends to get it located lower & everything lines up just fine now.

So, I have the beast at work & tooling around town, no issues. Running nice & cool in this lovely orange landscape known as California.
