UPDATE & SCAM Re: Still Looking for my Brothers Car ( Samborarocks)

Just a heads up....as you know I posted here to find my brothers car as I have done in the past....so far no leads...I was just told that he might have sold it to a guy who has a body shop.
I will also try to post a photo from here possibly showing its Texas tag.

With that being said...I will give you a heads up on the latest Scam.

I was contacted via email by a "Alex Thomas" who says he has been a car dealer for 15 years and he has my brothers car. his grammar was not so good in said email pasted here:

I am Alex Thomas from new york city ,i am also a car dealer here and i have been a car dealer for the past 15 years now .i just saw post that you are looking for your Brother Harry's Car. A 1972 GS .i just want to tell you that i have the car here in my work shop ,please if you are interested ,you can email me or call me on skype :mark.peterson742 so that we can see each other on video call

Ok, so I play along...I email back and ask how he acquired it...he emails back pasted here:

Thanks for writing me back my dear friend, well,i have the kind of car you are looking for because i have been a car dealer for the past 15 years now ,1972 GS car is here for sale in my car pack now and this are some pictures of the 1972 GS cars.get your choice cars in a low price rate with me and delivering is made before payment but the only thing you need to do is to pay for the custom paper work and the car we be delivered to you in your doorstep within 24 hours ,please if you are interested just text me back so that we can talk more about the delivering .
    thanks for your understanding.
    from Alex Thomas.

He also had photos of different Buick GS's attached which appeared to be pulled from this Site.......what scam next????

Then he calls me at 630AM in the morning....from an Amarillo Texas number 806-318-8653 leaves no message.....then sends a text "good morning ...please me back"
I text "you don't have my brother's car and I don't have time for nonsense" ....he text back "My friend I told you I have that car here in my car house and you just have to believe a nice and honest man like me"

yeah...that'll work!!!....Just thought you guys on the board should know.....Be careful of this ****!!!

Change the telephone number in your first post into 609-517-two zero two three and your email address into ralph at hackneys dot us

Or even better: tell people to reply in this thread only and delete the contact information.

These scammers do board scans for e-mail address and telephone numbers.

And what was his email address?

I would contact all the car clubs in your area and see if they will put the word out for you. Car guys are very willing to help with finding cars with family ties.

I have collected the parts needed, all mechanicals gone through, just needs paint. Also picked up a new hood. But, for now it looks about like it did when he owned it.
