I had a previous post titled: Wanted: Rear (single terminal) Speaker. Frank St. Elmo thought he may have one, but did not, so I am still looking for one.

I am restoring a 1972 GS Stage 1 car with an AM radio and the single rear speaker option. I am looking for that (single terminal) speaker. I would prefer a working speaker, but could get it re-coned if you have one for sale that is not working.

It measures 6" x 9"& rated at 10 ohms. This speaker only has a single terminal (pwr) and is grounded to the package tray. (see pic).

Please let me know what you have.

I have a 6x9 10 ohm later model Delco NOS speaker that will work just fine.....there is a difference in that you have to ground the speaker with the wire that comes with the two wire connector that comes with it.....it will not look stock but no one will see it under the package shelf.....LMK if interested......

    WildBill,

Thanks for the reply and offer to convert it to a single wire. The two terminal 10 Ohm speakers are available from a few different sources (like turnswitch) along with the conversion kits, but being the purist that I am, I will hold out for one of the original single terminal speakers.

I know that they were widely used by Buick, Olds, Pontiac and Chevy under P/N's 6300614 & 7294892, so i am sure I can find one in due time. The Doctor keeps telling me I need to work on my patience!!!!! Restoring this Buick is good therapy. (LOL)

Found the speaker, it is NOS, and I did check it and it works. Single terminal and still in the old box. It is a tall basket one, meaning it is 1 inch taller then the short basket one. I think I may have bought this from Frank, I have about $75.00 in it and will take that for it plus the shipping. I can post pictures here or email or text them, let me know, thanks Bill.

Good. I didn't have anything, just front dash speakers (4 x 6?) from stereo speaker Chevelles. Anything down here will have to be re-coned - the sun just beats down and bakes anything exposed for a good part of the year. (Apr - Oct)
