I am having trouble getting one part right. I have had it reassembled to the point of putting the lock cylinder back in to test everything and it doesn't line up.

Here is the way it looked before first disassembly

This is the best I can get it to line up now

Here is the only pic in the repair manual I can find of the actuator rod assembly.

As far as I can figure out I am installing it properly, but things don't line up. I can't get the very bottom cover off of the steering column to get a really good view of it. This is a tilt wheel in-case it makes a difference, but anyone have any ideals?

The spring that pushes the lock pin is not around the pin, looks close but that only counts in horse shoes.
Take the screw loose that anchors the spring and get everything in place and then reinstall the spring in the anchor, I use a pair of needle nose for that job.

    Good luck

The spring needs to go around the lock pin not just under it.

That did'nt turn out to be the problem. I watched some youtube videos and the people on there were not tearing the wheel apart as far as I did.
I took it apart, and reassembled the part I was having trouble with then put it together and everything is now working.
