    Hi out there,
I'm actually redoing my 1963 Riviera. One small prob is a leaking out of the torsion bar. At the moment I'm unsure about the 2 possible solutions:
    1) if I'll try to reseal it (difficult?)
    2) buy a complete new gear box (where to find)
For solution 2: It's hard to find a new gear box for a 63 Riviera. So my question is: are there any interchange parts for the gear box used in a 63 Riviera?
    Thanks
    Robert

By torsion bar, do you mean the outgoing shaft that is connected to the pitmanarm. Or is it the ingoing shaft?

Im going to assume you mean the pitman shaft seal. They make a kit. Its not that difficult. You need a pitman arm puller. Remove the pitman arm, then remove the snap ring holding the seal in. Put the pitman arm back on loose and place a LARGE drain pan under the steering gear. Start the car and bang the steering wheel full lock. The seal will shoot out of the gear along with the fluid. As soon as you hear the seal pop out, shut the car off

It's leaking out of the ingoing shaft (connected to the steering wheel)

Judged from pictures the steering gear is same on all fullsize 61-64. But you'll have to confirm it.
