I’m trying to do a 231|350 swap and I’m seeming to be having trouble getting no power. My terminal for my ignition switch is too big for the S terminalZ I wanted to know what can I do tobyey this to fit the right way. Without any power, I can’t proceed to the next step. It turns on (lights only ) when then ignition switch is plugged into the battery feed on the starter and turned into the acc section but the starter but doesn’t clock over. swapped the cables again and no power at all. I put my terminal on the S relay and i figured this is the problem. Can anybody help on how to fix this? P.S. in the pic, you will notice how big the terminal is and how small the S terminal bolt is. I was debating on if it needs to be cut and redone with a new terminal. But no lights = IGN switch on S terminal as pictured. Lights = no click but GEN/Temp lights come on. This is a 350 dropped into a 78 Regal Limited.
That wire goes on the the same terminal as Bat. cable, it is the fuse link. find a wire diagram. U will see.
As said the wire with the large terminal end goes with the Battery cable on the main stud of the solenoid . Also the smaller wire should be on the "S" terminal . Being it is a 78 vehicle there would be no wire on the "R" terminal of the starter . I believe you have it on the wrong stud .
You posted this same question on facebook and got all the same answers. Follow the wiring diagram that was posted and you'll be fine.
