Hey guys need some help I’m changing my starter on my 455 to a high torque one and have some questions, I used the search for what length bolts to use but can’t find the info. I bought a starter from Napa for 95 roadmaster and I don’t know what length bolts to use and should you flip the starter to underneath so it doesn’t get heat soaked. I would have bought robs starter but didn’t find that thread until after I bought this one.
    Thanks for any help

The Mini starters use different bolts than the stock starter. Available in the Help section of the parts store. Robb Mc starters use the stock bolts oddly enough. Some starters allow you to move the solenoid around for best access, is that what you mean?

Yes the one I bought you can move the solenoid. It didn’t come with bolts and I was just curious if anyone knew what length to use.

Before using the Robb Mc starter, I used a Mini Starter like the one you have, a PG260 Delco starter that fit among other cars, a 95 Roadmaster with the 350.

I bought it from a board member and he supplied these bolts. They both have a stepped knurl. Look over this thread by Schurkey, it is excellent.

The longer one measures 4 5/8", the shorter one is 2" even. That is OVERALL length including the head. Look in the HELP section, you will find them.
