    Should I?
I asked around on another forum, and it seems to be split 50/50 ya vs neigh. The neigh camp seems to be in favor of electric engravers over stamping, especially if not resizing.

    Thoughts?

I stamp them and never had a problem. Just stamp them light enough to read.

Either stamping or engraving is fine. Just stay away from the $5 harbour freight stamps they might attack your face lol.

Clamp the side of the big end your needing to stamp or punch in a vise with wood on each side of the rod nice and tight and your fine to hit hard enough to get a good stamp impression.

Before I had an engraver, I used a automatic center punch. One dot-one dot, two dot-two dot, etc. I never had a problem.

Yep. I used to dot them like the dots on dice. (I know, it's die, but that seems rude... :D )

I usually stamp them BEFORE I take the rods out of the engine this way you have much less of a chance to deform since your hitting against something solid like the crank.
    Just my thoughts.
