    1964 Lesabre had the BJ.
1965 it would have been in a big car, with a 401.

Can you get pics of the tailshaft and the bellhousing bolt pattern?

  3. since it has 65 stamped on the identification plate I am assuming it's a 65 model and BJ would be a 401 nailhead with 307 gears.

'65 LeSabre only came with the 300, in two flavors. The 2bb and optioned 4bbl.

The Skylark Gran Sport never had the ST400, only the ST300 and 3 and 4 speed manual.

So, the only cars that could have had the ST400 in '65 was the Wildcat, Rivi, Electra.

  6. LeSabre is a BU code.

  7. Here’s a couple more pictures. Looks like Nailhead bolt pattern to me. Hope it’ll work on my 425?

Pretty sure you have switch pitch st400 for nailhead. Check the yoke output of the spline.

Even if you have to get a drive shaft built for it, the effort and cost will be worth the "seat of the pants" payoff

I'm pretty sure you could get a 65 lesabre with an ST400, even if it had the 300 engine. That'd be the BU. But if a 401 wasnt available for the LeSabre in 65, then yeah the BJ would be a Wildcat, Rivi, Electra only transmission.
