I tried searching and couldn't find answer so hopefully someone here can help. Is the flywheel inspection plate and transmission dipstick from an '65 Skylark ST300 with a 300cu V8 the same as from a '65 Gran Sport ST300 with a 401 Nailhead? I would think the plate would be but am unsure about the dipstick. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

One from a 300, 340, 350 or 225/V6 should work just the mounting tab might not be in the correct location

Also Pontiac and Olds used the trans til 68? So others should work I would think.

    Regards,

I don't see any reason why the dipstick tube, or stick would be any different for an ST300 mounted to different engines in the same car. Maybe the attachment point for the tube might be different for each engine, but the tube and stick should be the same.
