Hey guys looking for a couple of parts to complete my sport mirrors. I'm missing the glass mirror out of the passenger mirror and im missing the pair of metal plates that bolts or screws to the car and you attach the mirrors to it. If anyone has this hardware or knows of reproductions let me know, thanks.

About the mirror glass, there were 2 different sizes depending on the mirrors you have.

If you have the correct 70-72 mirrors they use the smaller glass assemblies, so you need to make sure the ones you get are not the larger later year pieces or they will not fit into the housings.
    Just thought you should know.

Hello Duane, I read your article on sport mirrors. I bought the correct ones with the part number you supplied in the article yesterday, 29853 (Left), 29843 (Right).

So I need to look for the date code to check if there later years, but I believe they are 70-72. I'm going to attach pictures. You can tell me exactly what I need. Thanks Duane.

    Christopher,
If you have the mirrors with the correct part/casting numbers then you need the shorter (left to right) mirrors. The later year mirrors will not fit in those housings, that is they may fit, but not be able to turn so you can see out of them.

My article lists the part numbers for the correct mirror assemblies you need. That is what will work, there is no need for pics.

If you have the assembly but the mirror is broken, you can get one put in.

Well I need a few parts, the driver side on the left is complete but it seems like the cables need replacing and on the right the passenger side I basically have the shell, and for both I need gaskets and the mounting plates.

Christopher, do you also have the plate that goes inside the passenger door to mount the mirror? The driver's side has a reinforcement built into the door, as ALL cars used a drive's side mirror. On factory cars, the brace plate was held on by a large rivet.

I should have that on my drivers door IF that piece is interchangeable with different mirrors because I still have the original chrome (non sport) mirror on still. As for the passenger door, it did not come with a passenger mirror when i got the car, so im not sure. Everything I got for the mirrors are in the pictures above.

If the passenger door did NOT have a mirror, it will NOT have the Bracket/brace. The mirror will cause the sheet metal to deform and the mirror will sag.
Are you going to the GS Nationals later this month?

No, unfortunately I am not. I wish I could, everyone keeps telling me how great it is.
