I have a drivers side sport mirror with remote, 7-DMI-8 on the glass, 02011 on the base, any idea what this fits?

Icy here in North Carolina, most things are closed today. Quite a bit of ice on the trees but starting to melt.

There should be another number on the glass next to the 8. That can tell you year anyway.

Good info, I was hoping to find out what these came out on originally, I understand that they are not factory for 70-72 GS.

They could be. That type was available in 70 GSX and all 71-72.

    Dave,
Those mirrors are nothing like the ones for the 70-72 A-Bodies. They may have come off Camaro's or Firebirds but that's it. They are much taller then the ones for our cars.

I don't remember how the date codes work, but they are off either 1977 or 1978 cars.

The numbers "7-DMI-8" decodes as July of 1978.

I didn’t look at them closely enough. I missed that he had another number before the DMI. Guess I should be using reading glasses:rolleyes:

These are 78 corvette mirrors. I think they look like the ones posted.

I got dual Sport mirrors on my Skylark Custom '70. Do you confirm it was not available on Custom as option?

The units with studs are definitely NOT 70-72 Buick A body mirrors. Period. These take a bracket attached to the door with a hook on the front and a phillips head screw on the back. ws

Thank you guys ! I will replace it by original dual chrome in the future.
It seems my Sport mirrors are real GSX '70 mirrors with Phillips head screw and "9 - DMI - 0" on the glass.

Just to confirm the Buick numbers, this is what Ive got. Thanks to Geoff here as well! Notice the base gaskets (home made BTW) and the rest of the job... The mirrors youve got probably have a "flat mount" remote for the arm rest, A la Camaro. The Buicks go through an escutcheon on the door panel. Instead of the two cheezy sheet metal screws for the bracket onto the door, I made a plate for the INSIDE. located it and used some construction adhesive until it cured. No wiggle on the mirrors at 100 mph. ALSO, notice the CORRECT "level" door handles... Those are all BOP specific as well. Good luck! ws

Not to bust your bubble but that date decodes as September of 1970 and they stopped 70 production sometime in August of 1970. This would mean they came off a 1971 model year car, and could have been off any Buick or Olds from that year. The only difference between the 2 was the gaskets.
