I've got a separate mirror style outdoor thermometer that I picked up at a swap meet recently. It's exactly like the mirror jobs except that it is on it's own separate housing. It's a Buick part, it has the Buick logo in it. I was told that these were an option on big cars in the late 60s and into the 70s. I assume it was bolted into the door underneath a non-remote mirror. I've just never seen one on a big car, or on an A body either. What year did they introduce them? Was it 1973 like the mirror mounted ones? Where they a dealer option or where they a factory install? When and on what were they used?
