What sparks plugs is everyone running? I have a 464, 10.25 to 1, solid flat tappet cam, iron headed street strip car. I am going to put it on E85, in my LS stuff I always run NGK. What is everyone having luck with?
You are posting in the Race Forum, but for a street/strip car, I say NGK UR-5 or UR-6 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ngk-2771 https://www.ngk.com/product.aspx?zpid=10185 I am using the FR-5 which is the same plug, just flat seat with a gasket for aluminum heads.
no reason to put it on E85 with that compression. Im sure the cam is big enough to bleed off pressure, you would be better off with regular pump. you can start to have a cylinder wash issue with e85.
I said street/strip, but it is really a race car with a license plate. I can put 200+ passes a year on my street car a year. Thanks for the plug suggestion, I am an NGK fan, and those will probably be a good head range to start with. That is also why I want to put it on E85, it is EFI so the AFR should be good and not damage the cylinders, and I won't have to add race car or pull timing at the race track. It is also much more consistent for bracket racing which is what I mostly do.
Hey Larry, I just installed NGK 6630 UR4 versions I picked up from Autozone...Its a 76 block with 72 heads that's been worked over (by previous owner) no clue what was done, but the cam was hopped up. There were original Bosch HR9BP's in there.
I use E3 cause Britney Force used them and says there the best, and shes hot, so thats good enough for me!
What are E3 plugs? I looked on line . you get that good flame kernal. With that diamond fire. Sounds spiffy.
They were 1/2 the cost of the Iridium plugs that kept breaking and seem to do the same job + I stand by my statement about Britney Force!
