Does anyone have an SP1 and holley based carb in their regal / gbody? And more importantly did it fit under the factory turbo hood? Just curious...

Depending on your frame mounts ushould be fine I had a 850 with a nitrous plate and only had to trim the support under hood but cleared easily

Ok so my frame mounts are welded in home made deals but to me its seems like they couldn't get much more low profile than what they are. When you trimmed the hood did you do it with a air recip? How much did you take out - just under the bulge?? Guess Ill just have to wait and check it before the car goes in for paint.

I just trimmed around the turbo scoop back to where it glued or whatever that stuff is . so most of it was still there. I just used a cut off whell took me 5 mins that was probably ten years ago so i dont have any pics

I don't have an SP1 intake(yet), but I have the Edelbrock Performer w/a 900CFM Holley 4150 carb. I also have a 1" spacer under the carb. In my '83 Cutlass with a drop-base 3" air cleaner it dented my stock hood and it won't close all the way. I'm planning on upgrading to an Glasstek or VNF cowl hood (4" probably) before I change to an SP2 or SPX intake.

I used frame pads and engine mounts from a '75 LeSabre to mount my engine in my car.
