email from holley. Hi John, Thanks for the feedback and suggestion, I will bring this to engineering and product management's attention. We could be more clear on the manifold on the site listing but it covers it in the quick start guide and instructions pretty well.
For all you guys that don't like Holleys, I've got a qjet pattern stage 1 dual plane I would gladly trade you for your SP3 Holley pattern plenum.
I’m gonna say “Not at all” My SP3 is a spread bore flange with my AED 850 on top, I can swap between the Q-Jet and AED, but as far as performance differences I say none
That is sexy! It's funny, I was just reading through your thread here: http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/buick-350-shortblock-build.285708/ I would ask you how everything ended up but I am still in the middle of the thread What are you using for an ECM for that motor in the picture? Megasquirt or something fancy like a Haltech?
I was using the atomic system which is like the fitech in a way not much you can tune. I do know if you step up to the Holley terminator stealth style EFI that you get the big computer so you can do a lot of tuning to make it work with either intake. and if you're going blow thru single plane is the way to go.
I wish I had the space/money/time I would have kept the whole setup. It was a lot of fun to build and pretty rewarding to hear it fire up for the first time. Pretty much every EFI component is part of the universal Holley HP mpfi kit. My next step before deciding to sell the car was going to be upgrading to a dominator ecu (more inputs/outputs and dual wideband) and swap in a 4l80e. If I build another efi Buick engine I will certainly try to use more off the shelf parts to keep costs down and use a megasquirt or haltech ecu.
Guys, you have to remember that Holley knows virtually nothing about a Buick motor. I think in there eyes if it is not a Chevy or an LS, it should be. Tim
