    Hi folks,

Just noticed the my SP-1 has two screw holes drilled (but not tapped) for a little box under the PCV-valve hole, underneath the manifold. I am using T/A composite gaskets and the AMP splash shield (maybe the same as T/A?).

Is there any need to fabricate (or buy, if it's available) a little box to shield the underside of the PCV valve from excess oil splash?

    Thanks!

That's what the splash shield is for.

Yes, I know! Wasn't sure if we needed extra protection.

Don't need it if you are using the AM&P splash plate. This is how I'm running my SP1.

With my shield on the SP 1 you don't need to screw a baffle on the bottom of it.
When I sell a shield for an SPX I provide an additional baffle to screw under the pcv valve. I am not sure it is needed but since the SPX shield is narrower the clear the bottom of the manifold I have always provided the extra baffle in case there is some oil that splashes from the side to the pcv valve.
